We visited AndyMark, a Kokomo-based robotics company founded in 2004 by Andy Baker and his late business partner, Mark Koors.

Andy shared how their experience mentoring robotics teams helped them recognize a need in the market. What started as designing solutions for their own teams grew into a global business serving robotics education programs, including FIRST and VEX.

Today, approximately 60% of AndyMark’s products are designed in-house, with international distribution in 15 countries!

We also learned about the realities of entrepreneurship, including the three years it took before the founders paid themselves and the importance of building a company culture around safety, accountability, respect and continuous improvement.

A great lesson in recognizing opportunities, solving problems and turning your expertise into a business!
