From farm to market ππ₯©πΎ
Our visit to Ervin Township Meats gave us a look at a family business built on generations of farming. Tom Wilson and his son-in-law, Bobby McClain, shared how the business grew from an unexpected turning point after Tomβs dad passed away in 2020, leaving behind cattle and a question of what to do next.
Today, their Hoosier Homestead Farm has been in the same family for more than 150 years. Their cattle are grass-fed and then grain-finished, producing the marbling that helps their beef reach prime grade.
You can find Ervin Township Meats at the Kokomo and Zionsville farmers markets and locally at The Radish and The Coterieβbut for Tom, one of the best parts is still getting to know the people eating what they raise.
βWeβre farmers. So on Saturday when we get to go to the market and see our customers, we really like that.β
Thank you to Tom and Bobby for sharing the history, hard work and heart behind Ervin Township Meats!
