Our first business visit took us to Mid-America Beverage, where President Jack Hingst and Joseph Parker, Controller and Kokomo CEO Board Treasurer, shared the history behind the company and how that history still shapes the way they operate today.

One message that stuck: “Leave it better than how you found it.”

Jack talked about the importance of staying true to what built the business in the first place. In an industry constantly introducing something new, Mid-America Beverage hasn’t forgotten the brands, local bars, liquor stores and relationships that helped get them where they are today. Growth matters, but so does knowing your foundation.

A great first look for our students at how history, relationships and values can continue to guide a business generations later.
