For nearly 80 years, Blye's Bridal Loft has been part of some of Kokomo’s biggest life moments, weddings, proms, celebrations, and memories that last far beyond the dress itself. Now entering a new chapter under owner Heather Duncan, the longtime downtown business is blending its rich history with a fresh energy and renewed focus on customer experience.

After spending more than 20 years in healthcare, Heather stepped into the bridal world in 2023 as store manager before officially purchasing the business last year. She immersed herself in every part of the operation; buying dresses, social media, marketing, customer service, and day-to-day operations. Her mindset through it all? “I love it! How can you not?”

Every appointment is about helping someone feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated.

Heather launched Blye’s own private label, Marie Ike — named after her daughter’s middle name and her son’s nickname. Every dress in the collection is named after women in their family, adding an even more personal touch to the brand. Blye’s also offers customizations and special-order options that allow brides to truly make a dress their own.

After relocating downtown, many people didn’t realize Blye’s was still there. Especially being located on the second floor. Since becoming more active on social media and reconnecting with the community, the business has continued trending upward.

Heather’s biggest takeaway? “It’s about being real with your customers, making them feel comfortable, and giving them a great experience.”
