From raising hogs to leading one of the nation’s top biosolids management companies, Ted and Terry Merrell built a business rooted in faith, family, and a relentless drive to “do the right thing continuously over time.”

Dustin Smith, who started at Merrell Bros. in 2006 as a project consultant and worked his way up to CEO just last year, is carrying that mission forward. Under his leadership, Merrell Bros. continues to grow — now 250+ team members strong — transforming waste into valuable resources through cutting-edge technology and intentional customer service.
