We heard from Monty Henderson, a farmer, business advisor, and lifelong learner who reminded us that “you are in a life-changing seat… because of the people you meet.”

Monty shared how his path, from farming through tough ag years, to teaching business at Ivy Tech, to advising over 10,000 entrepreneurs through the ISBDC, has been shaped by persistence and service.

As one of the early champions who helped start the Kokomo CEO program, Monty knows firsthand that success takes more than hard work… it takes hard and smart work.

He left us with wisdom that applies to both farming and entrepreneurship:
🌱 Accept and avert risk — because risk creates reward.
💡 Know what you’re good at and passionate about.
🚜 Keep growing, even through the hard seasons.

Thank you, Monty, for reminding us that growth — in business and in life — comes from showing up, learning, and serving others.
