We had the privilege of meeting with Scott Pitcher, owner of Fortune Companies.

A Taylor HS grad who started at Chrysler as an electrician, Scott shared how connections, high standards, and a love for learning shaped his career.

In 1986, he took on his first historical renovation on North Washington Street — a project that remains his favorite to this day. Since then, Fortune Companies has built its reputation on consistency, honesty, and quality, giving new life to spaces others might overlook.

As Scott told us:
“Whatever you’re doing, you’ll set the standard. Kokomo is my home. You have to give back to your community.”

We left inspired by his passion for preserving history while building for the future.
