Friday we visited Ervin Township Meats🥩✨ A family-owned business with deep roots and a whole lot of pride.

Tom Wilson spent 37 years raising hogs before stepping into cattle after his father passed in 2020. Now, alongside his son-in-law Bobby McCain, the family continues a proud tradition on their Hoosier Homestead Farm — land that’s been in the same family for over 150 years.

We learned how their cattle are grass-fed first, then grain-fed to build prime-grade marbling (a step above what you typically find in stores). Their meat is processed in Portland, Indiana, and makes its way back to our community: freezer cuts at the Kokomo Farmers Market, Radish Market & Cafe, and all the burgers at The Coterie are made with Ervin beef. 🍔

Tom shared, “We’re farmers, but on Saturdays when we get to go to the market and see our customers, we really like that.” A reminder that behind this local business is passion, pride, and community. 🌾
