What They Won't Teach You in Business School

Nick Pate

"There are only 3 ways to make money: time for money, invest, and multiply yourself."

Nick (and Curly Joe) led us on a wisdom-packed hour of entrepreneurship gold! He concluded with this quote by Thomas Edison,

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

KPI's & Other Business Systems

Rex Byers (Heating & Cooling)
"The biggest mistake small businesses make is they don't charge enough. If you're not charging enough to cover the cost of marketing, you're not charging enough." Rex's words had so much weight coming from a man who dramatically turned his company around after 10 years of marginal profits. Very inspiring!

Coca-Cola Bottling Co

Craig Severns, Mike Fox, Tim Knowland, Brandon Bishop
Craig Severns' grandfather started the Coca-Cola Bottling Co in Kokomo in 1935. They shared the number of cases of Coke sold in our area and it is truly staggering! (Numbers withheld due to confidentially agreement.) From a marketing standpoint, they are trying to understand the 79 million people strong, Millenial Generation. And although they still lean heavily on Coke sales, they now consider themselves a "total beverage co."

Fastest Lanyard Project Yet!

"We'll do it faster than last year," were words uttered by the two prior CEO teams about bringing in the lanyards. Neither did. This year, our team brought the project to completion faster than all three prior teams. It should be noted that we capitalized on the design and generosity of '16 alumni and lanyard designer, Jadon Meise. We learned that collaboration can happen between CEO teams, not just within a team! Thank you, Jadon.

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Kokomo CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 15 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 20 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.

If you are interested in participating in any of the above programs, use our contact form to send us a message
